In accordance with the practices of the Syndicat de la Librairie Ancienne et Moderne (SLAM).
Pingel Rare Books, as a member of SLAM, has adopted all of these practices, described below.
These obligations apply to all commercial transactions, subject to mandatory legal provisions and unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1. Ordering information
Pingel Rare Books undertakes to process orders in the order in which they are received.
"For examination" shipments must be returned within 72 hours of receipt. After this period, the order is considered final. The shipping and return costs are the responsibility of the applicant if he/she renounces the purchase.
Purchases must be paid for in cash.
2. Returns and sales cancellations
Pingel Rare Books undertakes to describe precisely the parts it wishes to sell by indicating any significant defect, lack or restoration. It ensures the authenticity of the pieces it markets. The buyer of incorrectly described parts must obtain a full refund of the amount paid, including the shipping costs of reshipment, but he cannot claim damages.
The intention to return an incorrectly described part must be notified to the bookseller as soon as the defect is detected. The latter must be informed of the dispute in order to be able to provide any justification. Unless the bookseller replies by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt, the refund must be made within days of the object's return. The bookseller may not oppose his good faith to the buyer if the defect is proven.
The Bookstore ensures that the net selling price is clearly indicated on items for sale in bookshops or at a trade fair. Any object that is not for sale, reserved or being restored must not be displayed or must be indicated by a label indicating its status.
In the spirit of fraternity that has governed SLAM since its inception, members agree among themselves and with their counterparts affiliated to the LILA to a friendly discount of 10%, regardless of the purpose and amount.
4. Shipping & Returns
Packaging is free of charge, shipping and insurance costs are at the buyer's expense. Orders from new customers are shipped after payment. As far as possible, orders are shipped within 48 hours of receipt of payment, but no later than 7 days.
The consignor undertakes to carefully pack the objects to avoid any damage and assumes responsibility for any damage or loss that may occur during transport.
5. Bank charges
The seller must obtain the exact amount of the net price paid into his account. All bank charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
