Description

One volume in-12, contemporary binding, red morocco, triple gilt fillet, gilt coat of arms in the center of the boards, spine with 5 ornamented nerves, gilt roulette on the edges, gilt inner roulette, gilt edges. (Ink stain at the foot of 13 leaves, last leaf wet and pasted to a flyleaf.)

A fine copy, in contemporary red morocco with the arms of Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet.

New edition of this work published in Venice in 1645, and reprinted several times, here increased with corrections and additions by Jacques Lefèvre. Italian theologian and philologist born in Malta, Domenico Magri (1604-1672), was entrusted at a very young age with a mission in the East to the patriarch of Antioch, before joining Malta and then Rome where he worked on the edition of the Arabic Bible.
