Manuscript of 1772, by Guilelmi Langenberger, Father of the Order of Hermits of Saint Augustine, whose text occupies the first 239 pages. Fully set, the work presents a very beautiful black and red writing, and is richly decorated with watercolor lettering, scrolls and frames. 

The book is also illustrated with 17 copper engravings (including two plates), some of them partially colored. Most of these prints come from Augsburg and are the work of Johann Baptist Klauber. During this period, the Bavarian city was an important center for the publication and production of prints, especially devotional and religious images. The Klauber family was also one of the leading dynasties of artists in this city of the Holy Roman Empire. The presence of these works in this book is a precious testimony to the visual culture of a father of the Order of Hermits of St. Augustine in the 18th century.
