Provenance: Ex-libris Viscount Mersey Bignor Park The Paris edition of Cérémonies religieuses differs somewhat from the Amsterdam edition published in 1723-1743. It was published under the literary direction of Abbé Banier, with the text sometimes entirely taken up again, sometimes simply corrected by Abbé Lemascrier, as well as the new dissertations added to the original work. The plates are for the most part the same as those of the Hollande edition. Only some of them have been engraved in Paris by Duflos and others, as well as the vignettes

Missing the frontispiece in T1, stains to two half titles at the beginning of T2, an additional plate in T4 (p 266) not announced in the table (Le cimetière de St Médard - Différentes agitations des convulsionaires), pl 21 of T6 partially colored.
Overall, a few shorter plates, some restorations, a few browned leaves, a few stains. Some scuffing to the boards. Binding uniform. Brunet I, 1743.
