German world atlas, unknown in bibliographies.

This work contains 42 maps: one world map, 31 of Europe, one of Africa, six of Asia and three of the Americas, most of them captioned. The atlas, which is heavily oriented towards maps of the Holy Roman Empire and Central Europe (14 of the maps focus on this region), reflects its German origin.

Still, there are maps of the United States, China, Iran, Russia, and the Pacific Rim. Although the atlas is lacks of a date and does not bear any printing marks, an approximate date can be established from the political information on the maps, especially with the map of the Thirteen Colonies "Die XIII vereingte Staaten von Nord America" recognized as united at the Treaty of Paris in 1783, before becoming Fourteen in 1789 when Vermont was accepted into the Union. This interval is reinforced by the political composition of the map of Poland, which shows the country between the first (1772) and second (1790) partition.
