It is centered on Crimea or the government of Tauride as referred to on the map. It shows part of Russia in the north and extends south till the Black Sea and Caucasus Mountain ranges. It stretches east till the Kuban historical region, north of Caucasus, and west till Ochakiv in Ukraine. This map details the cities, roads, mountains as well as water bodies such as Kerch Strait between the Azov and the Black Seas, Syvash or the Putrid Sea, and numerous rivers. This map is decorated by a large decorative title cartouche and a central compass rose.
This map was included in Partie du Théatre de la Guerre entre les Turcs et les Russes. It was made based on the map made by members of Saint Petersburg Academy of Sciences to serve the travels Russia's Empress. It is also mentioned on the map that it can be found in a 3 sheet copy (Partie Septentrionale de l'Empire Ottoman) by Rizzi Zannony.
