Description
Large plan of 18th century Paris illustrating its 48 divisions decreed by the National Assembly in 1790.
It is gridded horizontally from A to K and vertically from 1 to 6. It shows Montmartre in the North and extends south till the Charité Cemetery. From the west it shows the Place d'Etoile till the Place du Trone (Place de la Nation). It is embellished by a large illustrated title cartouche. It details the city's streets, neighborhoods and major monuments all of which are listed in a legend.
