The map is taken from the Atlas Le Theatre geographique du Royaume de France published in Paris by the widow Jean le Clerc. This Theatre is the continuation of the Theatre of Bouguereau. Jean Leclerc is the fourth generation of booksellers and printers. He fled to Tours with his family during the troubled years of the League, and worked at Maurice Bouguereau's house. Six editions of Leclerc's atlas were published, the first in 1619.
