1729 reissue of Visscher's map of North America.

First published c.1696, this map can be found in two sheets together or separately as is the case here. The map does not appear to be derived from any source and is certainly quite accurate in the Gulf of St. Lawrence region. There appears to be greater access to English and Dutch documents than to French ones

In this fourth state, Schenk has added new information about Cape Breton. The map is completely re-engraved, and an insert of Louisbourg is added at the bottom. The map can be found in composite Dutch atlases of the period by various cartographers. Burden 731
